This name comes from the German organization based in 1972 that is based near the picturesque town of Hiedelburg. 5 engineers who had previously worked for IBM set up this enterprise, whose full name in German is Systeme, Andwendungen, Produkte in der Datenverarbeitung ( therefore the initials).
