Have you ever thought about hiring help to clean your home? Some feel it is a luxury, while others consider it to be survival.

The reasons people hire help to clean their home vary widely. Some people work such long hours at their careers they find all their free time spent in doing chores. Many times it is worth every cent to hire it done in order to truly have your free time, which creates a better work life balance.

Some people hire help because of health issues, or the elderly many time do for assistance with larger tasks, and some people simply because of time restraints in their lives.

When thinking about hiring help, consider if you lean towards a cleaning company, or a single owned business person who does their own labor. There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

The advantages to hiring a cleaning company is if you are not happy with the work, you have recourse in complaining to a supervisor. They many times also have extra training for their employees. The negatives can be that sometimes they are more expensive in that they have more overhead they have to cover, and if you find someone you like, you may not get them the next time.

On the other hand, sole business owners who do their own labor many times are a wonderful option. It’s their reputation on the line and many times go out of the way to make sure their customers are happy. Check if they are bonded or insured. If not, you have to decide it that’s a risk you’re willing to take or not.

It’s important to interview your potential person or company. Here’s some good starting questions. What are their rates? What does that include? Do they clean while you are home or away? Do they supply the cleaning supplies? Get references and check them.

It’s very helpful for them if you have an idea of what you’d like, such as which tasks, how often and any of your expectations.

Sometimes its surprising how reasonable it is to hire someone, especially in regards to the free time they’ll gain out of the deal. Perhaps it might mean cutting some expenses somewhere else to make it fit into the budget. Many people who hire someone say that it is worth every cent.
